I like to read biographies of successful women. Women have long been considered second class citizens, not fit to be educated, employed, conduct their own business or vote. Reading about successful women shows me what is possible, how it was accomplished and motivates me to do more. In your public library.

Men opened doors for women, women said thank you to them. There were no day care centers – women stayed home and raised the kids. Girls and women wore dresses or skirts. Women wore ‘house dresses’ to clean house and all the time at home. Women wore hats and gloves to church on Sunday.

Consider donating school supplies to womens' shelters, local schools, children's hospitals, libraries, churches. At this time of year, I can find crayons, glue, construction paper and other craft items at very cheap prices and great for their Christmas stockings. I am sure they would appreciate your generosity.

How did you get interested in saving money? In my area, the amount of free beautiful parks, nature centers, museums, national monuments, free concerts, kid programs at the library, things to rent at the library (books, ebooks, Kanopy, tools, toys, board games) is so wonderful! Out of necessity originally.
