I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. Over the years, I’ve invested small amounts at a time, extending my growing space, adding several types of berries, planting cherry trees, and growing an asparagus patch from seed. Enjoying some outdoor time.

One of the highlights of my year is the annual road trip I take with my son for spring break. One thing I’m adamant about, however, is that my son not spend the whole trip buried in a Nintendo DS , or using some other electronic gadget. It kept my son busy for hours, and he had a lot of fun taking the pictures.

History In 2006 I planted fruit trees, in anticipation of retiring and having time to pick and use the harvest. I planted them that fall, a dwarf pie cherry, an Elberta peach, a Lodi apple and a Braeburn apple. I tried multiple sprays of different types to try to kill whatever it was (probably a fungus) but nothing seemed to work.

She knew way back then, before all the scientific studies were done, that staying active helps keep our bodies and minds working well. Grandma and Grandpa worked hard on the farm all their lives and they didn’t slow down when they got older. She planted and tended her 2 acre garden. She gave birth naturally.

Co-workers expect you to eat lunch out with them – or catch a drink after work (at least occasionally). That means that you spend time picking up trash and money and time on fertilizing, watering, mowing and trimming as well as leaf raking, flower planting and snow shoveling.

While I worked outside the home, I usually did a half hour to 45 minutes. While working I either walked at lunch or worked out at the downtown gym. He works all day long outside, walking, mowing, sawing, chopping, planting and watering stuff on our 6 + acres. I’m seriously working on losing weight.
