Instead, I think a frog closure would work well, or even a simple loop & button! See Kate Sew has a project she refers to as Sweatshirt Liposuction ! I think it is just removing the collar, cuffs, and bottom, slit up the middle then sew around the raw edges to keep from rolling. But there are a few pins of it out there.
