Energy efficient tax credits. While there have been some rollbacks on tax credits and deductions for energy efficient investments to your home, many still apply. Most home appliances like refrigerators, HVACs, washers and dryers all come in energy efficient models now and are terrific ways to keep cutting that utility bill, as well.

I’m doing less wash now, and the laundry comes out of the washer much dryer than before, so time in the dryer is less. Fortunately, my 17 year old dryer still works like a charm. Our April Stupid Tax. Dave Ramsey refers to really dumb expenses and/or purchases as a stupid tax. Total Savings: $300.

My hairdresser’s new washing machine broke down after just 2 years (I’m working on at least 24 years with my old washer and dryer and they are still going strong!). But the makeup of a location can be changed by governments hungry for additional tax dollars. Homes need more maintenance than you think.
