Our first storm: 2007. The year 2007 held such promise for us when it started, but by the end of the year, we were brought to our knees. As self-employed small business owners, we have lived through some tough months, but in 2007, it was a tough year. For a variety of reasons, our business slowed down in 2007.

I said goodbye to mini-van life in January when we traded in our 2007 Honda Odyssey for a 2018 Toyota Highlander. I was also looking forward to having a backup camera and other safety features that weren’t around in 2007. We…took out a car loan. Yes, you read that correctly! I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it to you.
