Our first storm: 2007. The year 2007 held such promise for us when it started, but by the end of the year, we were brought to our knees. As self-employed small business owners, we have lived through some tough months, but in 2007, it was a tough year. For a variety of reasons, our business slowed down in 2007.

I said goodbye to mini-van life in January when we traded in our 2007 Honda Odyssey for a 2018 Toyota Highlander. I was also looking forward to having a backup camera and other safety features that weren’t around in 2007. I talk a lot about debt freedom and that is still a goal of ours, and our Debt Freedom Plan will be adjusted.

I use to have a local events and happenings blog when I lived in Austin from 2008 – 2010, I even use to run a Direct Sales blog back in 2007 and after a year, I sold it. I started this blog back in August of 2012 for the sole purpose of sharing coupons and deals and to show others how to save money in the process.

Americans have lost about $9 trillion worth of household wealth since 2007, largely because of falling home values. Meaning that I could, potentially, have my student loan paid off by mid-2012. Here's what I read in a recent US News article about who will continue to struggle in 2011: Homeowners. The rout isn't over, unfortunately.
