Our first storm: 2007. The year 2007 held such promise for us when it started, but by the end of the year, we were brought to our knees. As self-employed small business owners, we have lived through some tough months, but in 2007, it was a tough year. For a variety of reasons, our business slowed down in 2007.

I said goodbye to mini-van life in January when we traded in our 2007 Honda Odyssey for a 2018 Toyota Highlander. We had very little saved for a new-to-us car and we would have had to take out a loan to cover most of it, and that made me uneasy about purchasing the car. So in the effort of transparency, I took out a car loan.

On March 28, 2012 the Senate passed Resolution 409 that officially recognized April as National Financial Literacy Month. 6 percent of households in the United States are unbanked or underbanked and, so have missed opportunities for savings, lending, and basic financial services ( according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).

I moved my retirement savings from two company plans into an IRA. also from January feels confident that this bull is about over and that fundamentals look good for another ‘crash’ He says: “…this looks like 2007 all over again, with a burst of exuberance just before it all comes crashing down.”. My Predicament.
