Tell us a little about yourself I’m 40 years old, married with two sons who are 11 and 7 years old. We don’t live super frugally, but we do live well within our means and try not to be wasteful with our resources. We bought our house in March 2009, during some of the worst of the recession and the housing bubble bursting.

Well, that didn’t happen in our case. Third, our children were well into their thirties when we started the program. One of our sons lost a job during the 2009 recession. They were supporting a young son of hers. We try to take steps to avoid that.

Why Use Cash?

As an adult, I use both cash and credit as well as checks. In 2008-2009 when we had the credit crunch and recession, there was at least one day when stores were not accepting credit. If you didn’t have cash to spend that day, you may well have been stranded out of gas. If I buy anything online, I use credit.
