But, I’m ready to take on 2016! We have new financial goals for this year. While we made considerable headway in 2015 with reducing our debts, we missed our goal of paying off a loan by the end of the year. I would like that to be paid off by the end of 2016, but we have already lost the first two months.

Did you make 2018 financial goals ? My husband and I discussed some ideas over our holiday break and we decided on 2 solid must-achieve financial goals for the year. If we complete them early, we’ll move on to 2 additional goals that are on our radar. Save for a camper upgrade.

Becoming debt-free became very appealing and the idea of being able to give more, save more, and live more was the direction we wanted to go. This list needs to be updated and we need to add additional steps of paying off a sudden car note and saving for some other high ticket items. Increase business emergency savings.

In September 2019, my husband and I accomplished our biggest financial goal in our almost 20 years of marriage. As part of his baby steps, he does not advocate contributing to retirement until after you’ve paid off non-mortgage debts and saved 3-6 months of expenses in an emergency fund. Groceries.
