In previous years, I would create a long list of financial goals, only to have little accomplished by the end of the December. I almost stopped writing goals down altogether. In 2018, we decided to focus on just 2 main financial goals and before I share my 2019 goals I thought I would give you a recap on 2018.

Wonder what sets you apart from the people that seem to crush their financial goals? They pay off mountains of debt and scream about debt freedom, or maybe they save gobs of money in a record amount of time, or they have considerable success with their new small business. Our Debt Freedom Plan has been a long winding road. The journey started in 2012 when we bought an office building for our business and then found ourselves with a lot of debt and not enough cash flow. To ease my anxiety about our new loans, we took the Financial Peace University home course and it changed how we thought about debt.

Did you make 2018 financial goals ? My husband and I discussed some ideas over our holiday break and we decided on 2 solid must-achieve financial goals for the year. If we complete them early, we’ll move on to 2 additional goals that are on our radar. The Guidelines for 2018: 1. Restaurants.

After 20 years, I switched from Quicken software to You Need a Budget (YNAB) software in 2018 for our household. There’s a yearly fee and a learning curve, but I love YNAB and it helps me stay on budget and financially organized with our day-to-day checking and savings accounts. Implement our Debt Freedom Plan.

, we’re working on our Financial Vision Board in the month of June. The topic came to me when I realized that my husband and I haven’t really talked about our future financial goals in awhile. We talked about our 2018 financial goals back in late December, but we didn’t look past the current year.

I want to reduce our debt by paying off our last non-mortgage loan. . Our main financial goal is to pay off our last non-mortgage loan. It was a goal in 2018, but high medical bills and other financial challenges hindered our progress. My word for 2019 is REDUCE. My plan is for 2019 to be different.
