Today’s assignment: List your SMART financial goals. Earlier this year, my husband and I wrote a specific list of financial goals and named it Our Debt Freedom Plan. Prior this plan, we had set goals, but never before had we been so specific with a step by step approach. Is it to pay off your house?

Our 2019 Financial Goal. Happy New Year’s 2019: In January 2019, we were down to one final non-mortgage loan, so we created just one financial goal for the year—-to pay off that last non-mortgage debt by December. We can now move on to other financial goals. 1st Update in June 2014. 2018 Update.

Our main financial goal is to pay off our last non-mortgage loan. It was a goal in 2018, but high medical bills and other financial challenges hindered our progress. Back in December, I read the book, Zero Waste Home: The Ultimate Guide to Simplifying Your Life by Reducing Your Waste. My word for 2019 is REDUCE.

Did you follow a particular debt freedom plan or book, such as Dave Ramsey or Debt-Proof Living? Once I got home from that money changing event at my grandparents’ house, my best friend told me about this financial series she and her husband had been going through at church called Financial Peace University (Dave Ramsey).

It’s Frugal Friday: A recap of how we frugal-ed our way through the week so that we have more money to put towards our financial goals. We decided over the summer to move the fireplace to another spot in our living room to create a fireplace wall with a tv above, and built-in book shelves on both sides. It’s awesome.
