You aren’t responsible for teaching them to behave like human beings. We spoiled our children and we apparently are even more intent on doing so with our grandchildren! My parents were somewhat more interactive with their grandchildren (my kids). Why are we spending more on our grandchildren? Our kids need the help.

After discussing, he reluctantly agreed that we could fund part of it, but would leave the amount ‘up to my good money judgment’ He didn’t want to be the bad guy and say that he would rather we didn’t go at all, let alone pay for it all. One son is trying to rebuild finances after an expensive year.

Even the New York Times acknowledges that: As boomers join the ranks of grandparents, many are financing vacations for their children and grandchildren.
