I read Millionaire Women Next Door around the same time that I became a mother and left the full-time work force to stay at home with our new baby. It was a hard transition for me to go from being an equal financial contributor in my marriage to staying at home with a baby and not bringing in a paycheck.

We also worked diligently to nurture our small business (our bread and butter) while my husband picked up a part-time job as a swim coach, one of his passions.

Our mom stayed home to raise us kids; she went to work part-time in the local school system after both my brother and I were in school. My dad was a blue-collar worker – a machine operator on the railroad who sometimes got laid off for periods of time in the winter. And every week, I’d throw away romaine lettuce. Guess what!

If you have a big financial goal, think about how much you pay someone to do something that you are capable of doing yourself. Yard sales are great for smaller items, like clothing, household and lawn items, and kids/baby stuff. 17 – Find a part-time job. Put the money in your emergency fund instead.

Along our part-time business my husband is a senior web designer for Ramsey Solutions aka Dave Ramsey. We live a pretty busy lives and when given free weekends at home we love spending time at home on our little farm. If married, who initiated the debt free goal? What are your financial goals now?

Drew works full time for Department of Defense. Farrah works part time for Department of Defense. We obviously love Dave Ramsey and financial teachings so we help to teach those classes at our church one night a week. What are your financial goals now? Increase college funds for babies.
