How We Paid Cash for a 2008 Toyota Sienna Mini-Van
The thrill of seeing that the check cleared the bank was second only to writing the check that paid off our last non-mortgage debt. We had not been including our non-routine expenses in our monthly budget, because frankly, those were the things that made it look like we didn’t have enough, just like I discuss here . When New accounts, in new banks, with very limited access to get the money back out.
We paid cash for a new-to-us 2008 Toyota Sienna last month. In less than four years we went from being $50,000 in debt to paying cash for mini-van.

Lessons From the Mama: Money Management Isn't JUST For Adults
When a child asked mom or dad about saving and budgeting, they were more often than not told “Don’t worry about that” or “It is none of your business.” The one thing we will teach her immediately is that every dollar she makes, she has to put into her piggy bank. Since she has already learned about putting all of her money into her piggy bank, it should be an easy transition into having the cash in envelopes. My mother taught me so much when I was growing up. She shared her morals and values with me and because of her I’ve grown into the woman, wife & mother I am today.

The January Spending Diet and The Eat From The Pantry Challenge = SUCCESS
My goal with the Eat From the Pantry Challenge was to reduce our grocery savings to $300 from our budget of $400. decided that the difference from our actual spending and our budget of $400 would be split with half going into our savings and half going to a local food bank. This week, I will write a check for $55 and send it to a food bank in our town. I challenged myself twice in January . For the first challenge, we went on another spending diet in January . We had a successful spending diet in October and I decided that after the holidays we needed to diet again.

truly {budget}fab*
For those of us who hate budgeting, or perhaps just aren’t that great at it (myself included), I found a somewhat fail proof budgeting method. [cue cue cheers] Now, before you get too excited, remember that budgeting is also about self discipline. So unless you can practice some discipline and self-control, any budgeting you attempt to do is going to fail.
Before you lose interest…let me quickly break down my favorite method, you can find the other methods on CNN Money . My favorite method (and my own personal method which I guess isn’t so personal
