Stanley’s book, Millionaire Women Next Door: The Many Journeys of Successful American Businesswomen, and I had an aha moment. Chapter 17 in this book is titled, “Why not run the family office?” I read this book around the same time that I became a mother and left the full-time workforce to stay at home with our new baby.

For many years on the blog, I wrote extensively about my garden. I also had a large vertical trellis for growing squash, cantaloupe, and watermelons. , we’re working on our Financial Vision Board in the month of June. We talked about our 2018 financial goals back in late December, but we didn’t look past the current year.

It’ll balance your income and expenses like a check book, but that is all. She’d found an excellent blog post from Baker Bettie that explained the science behind baking chocolate chip cookie recipes. Once you’ve made some financial goals that motivate and inspire you, try and put dollar amounts around them.

In January 2013 there was a blog post on Keeper of the Home that first awakened me to the concept of living debt free. They keep us very busy!

She blogs at The Debt Myth. I quit my job to focus on my own stuff (blogging, painting, rental property, my iPhone app, writing Kindle books, etc.).
