We live in Southwest Virginia – I was born and raised here. I’m a stay-at-home homeschooling mom to Annie (5), Andy (2), and Eli (2 months). How much debt did you pay off? What kind of debt was it? That was the remaining balance on our home. We were debt free before I was 30 , including our home.

Also, I should add that his income didn’t contribute to my debt payoff totals at all. Who handles the day-to-day finances in your home or do you work on it equally? How often do you and your spouse discuss your finances/budget/spending? I thought I’d die with my debt but here I am living debt-free.

We have more stable careers, we have no debt (other than our mortgage), and we own a home. Canadian Finance Blog tells us why living debt free doesn’t help our credit score. I like the idea of helping them out with setting up a budget. How about you? We actually just implemented this. Great ideas.
