No Year’s Resolution
For example, if you read my No-Budget System post, you will see how extreme I can be when it comes to dieting. Now, when it comes to resolutions, I follow in the fashion of our No-Budget System and not set specific limits or achievements, but simply resolve to do better. Personal Goals
I know this seems strange considering that I am currently holding a 2009 Financial Resolutions Blog Contest , but I don’t do new year’s resolutions anymore. Sure I still make general decisions/goals/plans/etc.

Why traditional budgeting is WRONG
Most budgets look backwards. better budget looks forward .
But first, let me tell you why traditional budgeting drives me batty by looking backward!
Most non-fixed expenses are hard to predict, and thus are hard to budget for.
We all know budgeting is smart. You pull out your bills and receipts from the past month and add up what you spent. That number indicates how much you will spend this month, right?

10,001 ways to live large on a small budget
A new book by Wise Bread is as fun and useful as the personal finance site the book is based on. Alternatively, wash the beer out if you’d rather smell like a normal person. DISCLOSURE: I have a working relationship with the folks at Wise Bread.
In fact, this is exactly the type of book I wish had my name on the cover.
