Saturday: I am roasting a turkey for my family, mostly for the leftovers, but also so the 4 of us can sit down as a family for a big meal. What We Ate this Week: Monday : Ham & Bean Soup , homemade sugar-free applesauce.

For Easter, we were able to cut the cost of our dinner by doing some things that we will repeat for Christmas: Bulk Shop. I am normally not a fan of bulk shopping at places like Costco. Being that there are only two of us in our household, we never use up bulk groceries before they go bad, making it a wasteful endeavour.

Buy in Bulk and Freeze in Portion Sizes. The holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter are a fantastic time to stock up on meat. At Thanksgiving, Turkeys can be as low as 29 cents a pound and many grocery stores will offer a free turkey if you spend a certain amount of money within a time period.
