I had also been teaching one class a quarter at a local career college so I increased to two classes a quarter. What are your financial goals now? My next big hairy audacious goal is to buy a home with cash! Saving for retirement – or a version of retirement – is also a goal.

We paid off our law school and car loans several years ago, just because we didn’t like having them hang over our heads, but then we took a Financial Peace University class and made it our goal to pay off our house as well. I followed Dave Ramsey’s baby steps and did the Financial Peace University class twice, once at home last spring and I enrolled again at church this past spring to stay focused. What are your financial goals now? Know who will propel you towards your goal and run from those that will pull you away from it.

We obviously love Dave Ramsey and financial teachings so we help to teach those classes at our church one night a week. Then we re-took the class and never looked back. At first, I was annoyed that my Sunday evenings would be taken up by a financial class but I began to really look forward to that time with my husband working on one of our goals that we set out at achieve!
