I saw that you don’t exchange Christmas gifts with nieces and nephews on your side. What did Christmas and birthday gifts for nieces and nephews look like when they were young? This mainly comes from ridiculous expectations that I feel like I need to meet because of the way my mom did Christmas.

We spoiled our children and we apparently are even more intent on doing so with our grandchildren! My parents were somewhat more interactive with their grandchildren (my kids). Why are we spending more on our grandchildren? It never occurred to me to ask Mom or Mom-in-law to come watch my kids. It’s just fun!
