Sometimes, as we shop we see things we would like to own and decide to treat ourselves with a gift or two as well. So, hey, I guess I can take the tax reduction next year as well as this! However, I wait until spring and summer to buy decorations – and get them at garage sales. I know I do. In fact, I did today! Winter clothes.

As long as we buy them from an authorized source, we can get a guarantee as well. We bought a lot of our son’s onesies and other items (including a crib) at a consignment shop. We were able to get a great deal on older couches that were very well-built. We’ve bought used video games as well. What do you think?

I actually found a collectors book identifying various helmets, their markings and the companies that made them as well as the year made. That same person may troll neighborhood garage sales and offer to cart away anything left after the sale for free. Others may be appraisers or TV show stars as well! Enjoy your collections.
