Even the New York Times acknowledges that: As boomers join the ranks of grandparents, many are financing vacations for their children and grandchildren. My WWII era uncle and his wife made trips annually with one of their 4 grandchildren (a different one each year). We took my Mom with us to Florida in the 1980’s.

For our 40th wedding anniversary, we chose to take our adult children and our grandchildren on a vacation to Yellowstone National Park. The parents of one of our daughter-in-laws chose to renew their vows on their 40th wedding anniversary. We had fun together and fun separately. Why do folks decide to renew their marriage vows?

Both my grandchildren have the most disgusting mucous laced coughs I have ever heard coming out of tiny little bodies. My son-in-law is coughing and sneezing, running a fever and generally being pitiful as guys usually are when they get sick. Next week is the start of the holidays, and it is also my daughter’s birthday.

Generations, the Frost family has run the Museum of Magical and Rare Artifacts, handing down guardianship from mother to daughter, always keeping their secrets to “family only.”. First Frost (FREE as of posting time). She knows the items in the glass display cases are fakes because, of course, magic doesn’t really exist.

Most days I try to do some preparation with my sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren – to help them learn financial concepts and acquire the ability to wisely manage their money. That is one reason I hold my Grandma Rie’s Money Camp each summer with my grandchildren (our third generation).

Daughters and sons of very wealthy families sometimes want to disown the family wealth in order to prove themselves. Parental pride in ‘my daughter the doctor’ may play a role in their desire to fund at least part of school expenses. I wanted to prove myself.

Sons followed in the footsteps of their father’s, even to the extreme of becoming known by name of the family occupation (Smith – for blacksmith, Taylor for clothing maker, etc). Parent’s are proud to say; My Son the Doctor or My Daughter the Astronaut. Pick based on the amount of prestige the job offers.
