Last year, to make a little extra cash, I started boarding dogs through Rover, and I am about to start a very very part time job using my RN license for a home care company. Our family lives on a ten-acre homestead property in the Mid-Atlantic region which we bought in early 2022. How did you get interested in saving money?

Not enough time in the morning to make breakfast AND pack a lunch, one word: leftovers!

Do you want to stay close to your family? Or perhaps you want to find time for that hobby that you can never seem to fit into your busy schedule. If you keep postponing your retirement planning, most likely you aren’t contributing any savings or money into your retirement fund (assuming you even have retirement funds).

We consider her our “bonus kid” and our family is extremely close. How did you get interested in saving money? I learned to save money by watching my parents. (I I still remember saving my change as a kid so I could “shop” for books at yard sales.) A third “why” is that saving money is like a game to me.

The cats In my free time, I (probably obviously, considering my career) love to read, and I’m in a local book club. I also love to visit family (all our family is between 2 and 4 hours away) and friends, bake, and play board games. I’ve since spent much time going through the archives.

I live in the Midwest with my family. I’ve been teaching part time for over 25 years. I like to bake and read, and I spend time chauffeuring kids to activities and games. This was a time I had been thinking about not teaching anymore and staying home, so I was looking for new ideas to be thrifty.
