Patio furniture can last longer if you take care to prep it for winter weather. Examine metal furniture for rust and sand/paint with a rust restorer type spray paint to keep it in pristine condition. Although the new finishes are great, it gives me peace of mind to add a coat of wax each fall. Get ready for winter.

I took it apart (which took about an hour) and am stripping the paint off the iron (think at least one can of paint stripper) and then will spray with Rust-oleum – and I just found out that the cans I thought I had had been used on lamps!
