In previous years, I would create a long list of financial goals, only to have little accomplished by the end of the December. I almost stopped writing goals down altogether. In 2018, we decided to focus on just 2 main financial goals and before I share my 2019 goals I thought I would give you a recap on 2018.

This posed the problem of paying in full for both our health insurance plans since our employers no longer contributed to our healthcare needs. Our best frugal win has been our health insurance plan. Since retiring we have become gym buddies and have taken advantage of this great health benefit.

It’s Frugal Friday: A recap of how we frugal-ed our way through the week so that we have more money to put towards our financial goals. We received a letter from our health insurance company, Aetna, a few weeks ago that they are leaving the Affordable Care Act exchange at the end of this year. They LOVE it. Enough said!

In fact, it was one of my 2020 financial goals. Medical Info – includes health insurance details and names and details of our doctors, dentists, and other specialists. I had all of this info scattered in my brain and in different file folders. It took about two hours to gather everything needed for the binder.

Did you make 2018 financial goals ? My husband and I discussed some ideas over our holiday break and we decided on 2 solid must-achieve financial goals for the year. If we complete them early, we’ll move on to 2 additional goals that are on our radar. Our 2 Main Financial Goals for 2018: 1 – Finish the will.

Back in October 2003, I left a corporate career as a department store buyer with a nice reliable paycheck and benefits– including health insurance –to join my husband in the land of self-employment. We are working towards some pretty big financial goals and we’ve hit quite a few already.
