This is money I earned from my Christmas shopping last year, so it’s appropriate that I apply it to my Christmas savings. I added the check to our savings.

Right before the pandemic started, I opened 529 College Savings Accounts for our daughters. My oldest was in eighth grade and one of my goals for 2020 was to start saving consistently for both daughters’ college education. My Upromise strategy will help with our goal. After years of scrimping and saving and not spending extra money on things, we have achieved the biggest financial goal we have ever set for ourselves in our 19 years of marriage.

By the end of the month, my goal is to help you have a detailed financial plan for your family. Every month, we transfer this money into a savings account that is connected to our checking account. When a bill comes due, I transfer from the savings into the checking to pay to bill. Panic no longer overcomes me.
