This update includes how we frugal-ed in April, May, and June. 2 – We opened up high-interest savings accounts and earned $250 in interest. We are in what I call our “shovel season of life” Our oldest daughter leaves for college in the fall of 2024 and we have a big savings goal to hit before then.

I added the check to our savings. In March, I added $70 in $1 bills that I had been setting aside for the past year. Last year, a friend of mine on Facebook shared that she saves $1 bills that have Federal Reserve letters that match the first letter of her kids’ names. How did I do in June? How did you do in June?

I made enough to put $50 in our Christmas Savings account.

March was pretty good to me…I was able to add $307.55 Starting January 2012, we set up an automatic withdraw to a new “vacation savings account” of $25 a week. Having the ”vacation savings account” is like a back-up plan so we don’t feel strapped while we’re there.
