I shop at thrift stores frequently and I am always amazed at how much I see with store tags still on the product. But that store credit is much better than sending it to the thrift store as a donation. At this time of year, parents might be looking for a sitter so they can gift shop or attend a holiday party. Look for the big items that are worth your time and list them on Craigslist or find a local Facebook page where you can list stuff that you’re selling. I shop at thrift stores frequently and I am always amazed at how much I see with store tags still on the product. Part-Time Job. Return Unused Purchases. Tips, baby!

I can remember quite a few years in college and grad school when my part-time jobs juuuuust barely covered my expenses (and sometimes not even that!) I think the easiest part is things that are habitual so I no longer need to use will-power to resist the temptation. How did you become interesting in saving money?

I’m always amazed by the amount store tags I see on clothing and household item at thrift stores. 15 – Find a part-time job. If you need to save a lot of money and you have pinched every last penny, then consider finding a part-time job in order to find the money for your emergency fund.

Make it be known that that that there is nothing wrong in purchasing second-hand items from thrift stores, yard sales, or via classified ads or even online via places like eBay or Craigslist. And vice versa!) Stress the importance of saving and staying away from debt.

My wedding dress, thrifted! He wants to retire early so he can do more woodworking, electronic fixing, and maybe work at a winery or brewery part-time. It’s not hard for me (anymore) to avoid expensive stores or fast fashion sites such as Shein and Temu, and instead shop at thrift stores or use my local BuyNothing group.
