Believe it or not, those name brand foods, household goods, clothing, and accessories you buy can be found in the same aisles with the name of the store stamped on them. Yes, that means that you cannot stop at the drive through on your way home from work. No, you cannot have dinner and drinks with the girls twice a week.

To make up-cycling for holiday and Christmas gifts work, you will need to be a little crafty, however the end result will be a unique and personal gift. Anywhere you might use glass or tile for mosaic work, replace with broken china. Cover thrift store finds such as boxes and crates with dish shards for an awesome magazine rack.

I know that the Some People are all worked up and upset over the return of 90s fashions, but not me. I wore this on a Saturday with knee high black socks and clogs, but for work I felt tights more appropriate. I got this dress at a thrift store a while back and it was floor length. I was like “Look, Nathan, we can hem it.”

Both the dress and shoes are Isaac Mizrahi for Target. It’s basically the same cut in the front and the back, which seems odd, but works for the dress. I also love the texture of them. ~ I made the key necklace of course, but I found all of the chains at a thrift store for less than 3 bucks each. I really miss his stuff.

We have a short day today at work, and have been allowed to wear casual clothing this week. Nathan got me that sweatshirt at a thrift store and I am pretty sure that it is a child’s size, but I love the shrunken fit. So far this seems to be working and I’ve worn them several days in a row. Oh, come on now.

When Nathan brought home this blazer from the thrift store I really never envisioned it with something so casual, but I love it. When I wear a jacket at work, I have to be really careful about when and where I take it off on the floor. Because we are a second hand store, our clothes can be any brand or style.
