Right after our daughter was born, I read an article in the newspaper that tugged at my heart and my postpartum hormones. The local Salvation Army was looking for sponsors for their annual Adopt-a-Family Christmas program.

At 8:15 this morning, my youngest daughter climbed on the bus for her first day of first grade. Since the fall of 2005, I have primarily been a stay at home mother to our two daughters. I’m excited for all of the possibilities that lie ahead for my daughters…and for me too. It’s been a long time coming.

Christmas Through the Years

In 2005, we celebrated our first Christmas as parents. In 2006, our oldest daughter was 1. I can’t find a single picture of our youngest daughter’s first Christmas. So we’ll skip on to 2009 when our second daughter was 1 1/2 and our oldest was 4. No wrinkles, no gray…just big hair and our youth.
