Aside from a health concern with one of my daughters , 2017 was a great year, however, I was distracted by non-necessities, so my overall theme for 2018 is to use my time more wisely on the people and things that are important to me. I’ll update you on my family’s financial goals for 2018 in another post. Check email.

I mentioned in a recent post that I’ve been back on the weight-lifting train, and that I’ve put back on a lot of the muscle I lost. Also, when I am experiencing really bad stress, I lose my appetite, and that also makes me get weaker/scrawnier. My 2019 legs were way more powerful than my 2018 legs!

It was a goal in 2018, but high medical bills and other financial challenges hindered our progress. Two things have happened recently that encouraged me to think about environmental changes I can make in my life. I ran my 10th half marathon in 2018 and have 2 more races planned for 2019. My word for 2019 is REDUCE.

My first essay for East Side Monthly was published in November 2007, and my last one appeared in July 2018. Many of my early essays for The Providence Journal were about leaving my small Midwestern suburb after college and making a life for myself, away from what I knew. It was about Olive, a black lab we took care of for a neighbor.

I’ve never had this many different highlighter colors before, and they are making me very happy. for a job that is so flexible I just could not make it work to get out a blog post yesterday, and the wonderful thing about blogging is that it is ok to miss a day here and there. We all know Lisey is gonna make friends with them.)

Some retailers took the retail experience a step further by making it exclusive. This is a trend to continue watching in 2018 – I know we are curious to see who else takes advantage of it! But that is not all where VR is playing a part in retail, it is now even being used for training in-store associates. Exclusivity.
