I have used the extra money to pay off debt, fund family trips, or build up our Christmas savings. In January 2020, we booked round-trip flights to Paris for the four of us. This trip was a reward for our years of paying off six figures of debt , and we were going to pack a lot into our week. Whew, got all of that!

So your biggest risk is probably that you waste your time with little reward. Some platforms invest in equity (stock), while others invest in debt. Generally, stock offers high returns in exchange for more risk, while debt offers lower returns in exchange for less risk. But it often requires more work than people expect.
