My intent is twofold: to hold me accountable with our grocery spending and to give some ideas and insight into how we eat on a budget. So I went to the local apple orchard and took advantage of their end of season apple sale and made 12 more quarts–that should carry us until spring. I’ll share the recipe next week.

Some weeks are better than others, but there are usually one or two amazing deals that I can take advantage of. We use Cetaphil and it is pricey, so I took advantage of that money-saving tip. This is just one example, I have saved hundreds of dollars from these groups on groceries and gas. with a limit of 2.

Typically, I am not a big fan of shopping at multiple stores, but it might be worth a visit to your local discount outlets or “dent & bent” stores. I average about $5 in coupons on a typical trip to the grocery store.
