My Aunt Ida always gifted pre-loved items and they were some of the best gifts I ever received. Now, more than ever we need to save money. It is time to normalize gifting thrifted items.

Over the years I have had to budget, put money away…so we can live the life without worrying about money. To budget, not spend on stupid things and save as much as you can. For the clothes and shoes for my kids, I look for sales. I wait for the good sale. I wait for the good sale. Then I have no choice.

Just look at the many people scouring garage sales in the summer. If you think buying used is just for people who are on a tight budget, think again. Blender Fifteen years ago, I bought a blender at a garage sale for $3. Toaster Oven I bought a toaster oven at a garage sale for $2. I saved hundreds of dollars this way.

Use that gift card combined with sales to buy some new clothes to give to a needy family. My aunt and uncle never had a lot of money to donate to their church, but every weekend they volunteered to help set up for weddings or clean up after them in the church hall. But, honestly, our budget is slimmed.

They kind of look like the ones for sale at Curious Country Creations. Plan ahead and hit garage sales, but especially estate sales. You can pick up beautiful decorations, wreaths, linens, trees and more at these sales. Of course, you could do what my aunt used to do, and save paper from one Christmas to the next!!
