I discovered a trick when I was baking my mother's Chocolate Whoopie Pie recipe for the first time. It only comes in a quart container at my grocery store which is way more than the 1 cup that my intended recipes usually require. It calls for sour milk. Perplexed, I called my mom, "sour milk?, what is that?".

A couple of notes to keep in mind: I keep a moderately stocked freezer with marked down meat , loss leaders , batch pre-cooked meat , cooked beans , homemade baked goods and sauces. Baked Ziti, salad. Homemade Chocolate Pudding. There’s about $67 worth of groceries that I forgot to photograph. I even froze some.
