Baking Soda. To deodorize and unclog your drains, pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain. Don't be alarmed the vinegar will cause the baking soda to fizz, but it soon dissolves. Instead of throwing a used lemon or lime in the trash or compost, cut it into smaller pieces and drop it down the garbage disposal.

Discard the seeds ( in your compost ) or roast them like you would pumpkin seeds. Place the squash halves cut-side down in a baking dish. become a fan and 'like' FBS on Facebook. Carefully cut the squash in half lengthwise with a sharp chef's knife. With a spoon, scoop out the seeds. Cover with foil. Let us know in the comments.

Instead of throwing the seeds into the compost, I roast them up for a fun snack. Spread the seeds out on a rimmed baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Stir the seeds half way through baking. become a fan and 'like' FBS on Facebook. Remove seeds from pumpkin or squash.

After roasting, when the squash is cool enough to handle, scoop out and toss the seeds into your trash or compost. Pour the pasta into a 13 X 9 baking dish that has been prepared with cooking spray or butter.
