I also have a separate bank account for my children’s activities. I shop at the end of the season. I stocked up on several sizes for the next 2-3 years… for my daughter, last Sept, Crazy 8 had a coupon and a sale on summer clothes. I paid it all in cash (try not to pay in credit cards…).
