I love a bargain. Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. Moving sales might also be good to check out.

I love going to garage sales. I brought that wheel barrow home for hubby. On our last visit, my Brother urged us to take that lamp home with us. I really didn’t want it, but hubby thought it looked neat and was a family ‘heirloom’ So it got in the van for the trip home. Free is good, right?

Fashion changes and new or nearly new clothing gets sold at sales or donated to charity. Home owners get bored and re-decorate or re-vamp their homes. I can park my car and walk from sale to sale, getting a bit of exercise, enjoying the fine weather and seeing the architecture and landscaping of the homes along the way.

Have you ever had a big project to do – whether it was at home, at work, for volunteer purposes, or for school – for which you had no idea what the first step should be? I’ve always loved going to sales – garage sales, estate sales, auctions, moving sales – no matter. I learned how to bargain a bit better. To be successful, I think you need access to free or really cheap bulk sale items. You need to be an extreme bargainer. It was great fun.
