I love a bargain. Years ago, Mom introduced me to the idea of going to garage sales. People sell the darnedest things at their garage sales. Garage sales take time, you have to hit quite a few before you find the item you want or need. Moving sales might also be good to check out.

I love going to garage sales. I brought that wheel barrow home for hubby. On our last visit, my Brother urged us to take that lamp home with us. I really didn’t want it, but hubby thought it looked neat and was a family ‘heirloom’ So it got in the van for the trip home. Free is good, right?

Fashion changes and new or nearly new clothing gets sold at sales or donated to charity. Home owners get bored and re-decorate or re-vamp their homes. For me, going to sales is not just a means to find things I need at rock bottom prices, it is also entertainment. My ribbon however came from a garage sale.

When you are the collector, you are most likely paying retail prices for an object. Unless you are collecting to keep the object yourself, never pay more than half the current retail price. If you do find a bargain, there is most likely something wrong with the object. Buy pieces only in great condition.

He did win several things, the largest being a bike (medium priced, nothing fancy) which we gave to our youngest kid. I’ve always loved going to sales – garage sales, estate sales, auctions, moving sales – no matter. I learned how to bargain a bit better. You need to be an extreme bargainer.
