I love going to garage sales. Last summer, a lady on the street next to ours had a wonderful sale. When Mom and Dad passed, my Brother inherited the house and all their stuff – which they in turn had inherited from the prior generation. On our last visit, my Brother urged us to take that lamp home with us.

My brother once cleaned potato chip bags after turning them inside out and used those as gift bags! Some retail stores do still give out gift boxes for free, always check if you are buying in a brick and mortar store. Christmas cards are becoming a forgotten tradition, but we still get and give some. Be unusual. Make gift tags.

We use the eggs, harvest meat & if I can’t get out to hunt venison we’ve had friends give us meat. There’s always been garage sales/flea markets, library, state parks, fishing. It clicked with me early (as we saw above) so anything that smacks of poor management gives me hives.
