Dad grew up on his parent’s farm with a wood stove, an outhouse and kerosene lamps. We had a coal stove at home, but my brother and my shared bedroom was just a few feet from the stove. Plus, it can be really inconvenient to “make do or do without!” I ended up freeze drying them in the garage!
