Also, I tend to keep pieces for a long time, as I learned years ago that buying quality clothing lasts much longer than fast fashion. While I like to shop at thrift stores, I have a hard time finding TALL length jeans for my 5’10 frame and I was in need of new jeans. I won’t need to buy jeans for a few years. $20

If you are in more of a hurry, find a thrift store instead. But, find one in a high end neighborhood, one where the store sorts through the donations to select only the best. In my area, garage sales run spring, summer and fall – usually starting on Friday morning and running through Saturday about noon.

On Thursday nights, I write out my meal plan using my Dinner This Week Pinterest board and my cookbooks and then place an online order at Giant for a Friday morning pick-up. On Friday morning, I pull into the drive-through during my allotted time and my groceries are placed in the back of my car.

Buying a coffee is a guilty splurge for me, but to be honest, the particular coffee shop brand that I love is sold in grocery stores, like Giant. Rather than purchasing new, check to see if you can borrow from a friend, barter, or buy second hand. I’ll randomly choose a winner at 6:30 am EST on Friday, April 29.

Thankfully, my pragmatic side took over and we decided to replace our tires and take the next year or so to save up enough money to buy a vehicle with cash. On Friday, March 13th, the PA Governor shut down schools and closed non-essential businesses. Boy am I glad we don’t have that loan right now! March 2020 arrived.

Gift Cards I have a few gift cards that we can use to buy a few groceries, if necessary. I’ve already redeemed an Amazon gift card that I earned through Swagbucks in order to buy some shipping supplies for some packages I needed to mail. I then used that cash to buy coffee, milk, and eggs. It was a win-win!
