Although my parents never specifically taught me about finances, they lived a frugal life by necessity. My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well. We really didn’t have much money to spend, all my clothes were hand-me-downs (mostly from my older boy-cousin, not fun when you are a teenage girl, and you have to wear boys’ clothes!). Taxi rides, tailored clothes, and massages, just to name a few. Another thing I splurge on is stays in hotels.
