Although my parents never specifically taught me about finances, they lived a frugal life by necessity. My mom cut coupons and sewed her own clothes and mine, as well. Campsites are cheaper than hotel rooms, and because we can carry our own food with us, we don’t spend as much on restaurant meals. But there are so many!

We really didn’t have much money to spend, all my clothes were hand-me-downs (mostly from my older boy-cousin, not fun when you are a teenage girl, and you have to wear boys’ clothes!). Taxi rides, tailored clothes, and massages, just to name a few. Another thing I splurge on is stays in hotels.
