While I am not that thrifty, and I love prettily wrapped gifts, I don’t like to spend a bunch on wrappings. Use paper drop cloth to wrap. I bought a roll in 2011 and have been using it for everything from Christmas wrap to kid crafts to posters to mailing packages every since. Use paper from other sources.

I stopped by my two favorite thrift stores last week: Salvation Army & Community Aid, a local store. I cleaned out our closets a couple of weekends ago and I found that we are in need of some spring & summer clothes. Finally, spring has arrived in central PA, so I carved out some time last Wednesday to hit the thrift stores.

For many, the end of the year holiday shopping frenzy can override our saner, more thrifty selves. Winter clothes. On their personal finance site, US News suggested that some kids get games they don’t want and can’t be returned. We get desperate to find gifts for everyone on the list. I know I do. Other tips.

Participate in local food drives and donations and involve your kids in your actions. You can make it fun for you kids by running a household scavenger hunt in which you reward you children for finding household items to donate, such as clothes, toys, books, old appliances, and canned goods. And vice versa!)

I’m always amazed by the amount store tags I see on clothing and household item at thrift stores. 19 – Shop thrifty for you clothing needs. I truly am not opposed to shopping at retail stores, but I regularly find what I need for myself and my daughters at thrift stores and spend a fraction of the price.

As my kids have grown, I have expanded my work hours at our office and by the end of the week, I’m too cooked to cook , so take out it is! We did this and realized that we have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Disney +, and Sling TV—and my kids want HBO Max. The neighbor kids are doing quite well on my street.
