I pictured my adult sons and their families gathering there with my spouse and I, having fun, building new relationships and making memories.

My degree is in mechanical engineering, but I’m just starting a transition to nursing – before I got pregnant with my son, I was working as a nursing assistant while my husband finished grad school, and planning to go on to nursing school. Someone else took care of all the landscaping. And I had no kids or spouse!
