I did some research to see what kinds of jobs I could get that paid the most with the least amount of additional training and became a computer programmer. Dr. John Krumboltz, Professor of Educational Psychology at Standford University studies how people choose careers. Luckily, I found that I enjoyed the field and had some talent.

I studied psychology in school. Later, I ended up going back for computer sciences (which I enjoyed even more) so that my earnings potential was greater. I’m a baby boomer aged person and I think that my sons are doing much better at this than their father did – but I suspect there is still a lot of room for improvement!
