Most telephones were on a party line (and yes the parties did ease drop on each other, but they also let us do ‘conference’ calls). Coupons were in the newspaper. Cheap (not just inexpensive, I mean cheap – easy to break) toys came from post-war Japan. Weather prediction was terrible. There were no strip malls.
