What’s your favorite Christmas cookie? I grew up baking cut out Christmas cookies with my mother and grandmother. They’re like a sugar cookie, but they are very crisp. I’ve started my own tradition with my daughters. I came home with 6 different varieties of cookies. I love them.

This sweet little candy dish was a gift from my grandmother. I realize not everyone has family heirlooms to give away, but my grandmother was downsizing and gifted her grandchildren pieces from her Fostoria Glass collection that were my grandparents’ wedding gifts back in 1945. My great-grandmother made a lot of her gifts.

Saturday: We had my parents and both of my grandmothers over for dinner. I made Pioneer Women’s Baked Ziti , garden salad, garlic bread, and chocolate chip cookie bars for dessert. My husband and daughters are on their own. Sunday: Clean out the fridge: leftover ziti and other various leftovers.

My daughter does competitive cheerleading and that itself is $3K a year (not including travel). All I had to do was what my grandmother had taught me. I stocked up on several sizes for the next 2-3 years… for my daughter, last Sept, Crazy 8 had a coupon and a sale on summer clothes. also set aside money for a rainy day.
