I’m a 53-year-old mother of 2 (grown) and grandmother of 4. My daughter lives in California and we talk regularly. But I did learn some things that I find I use today. Being between houses and living in hotels mostly, it’s hard to cook. I’m not much of a cook even when I have a house.

They come in handy–my family gets fed and I get a little break from cooking. Sunday: We went to my daughter’s end of season swim team banquet.

My daughter does competitive cheerleading and that itself is $3K a year (not including travel). All I had to do was what my grandmother had taught me. I stocked up on several sizes for the next 2-3 years… for my daughter, last Sept, Crazy 8 had a coupon and a sale on summer clothes. also set aside money for a rainy day.

My hobbies range from reading to painting, pen-and-ink drawing, cooking/baking, and writing. Also, we’re by a military base, so it’s a little easier to find houses to rent if you know when people will be PCSing out and needing to rent out their homes. We always find free/inexpensive things to do on our trips, if we can.
