Garage sales – need I say more? I ,myself, knocked the price of a satellite repair call down to zero by just asking WHY I would have to pay when it is their equipment that has malfunctioned through no fault of my own. The lady ahead of me in the line at Walmart mentioned that the frozen pretzels she was buying were $3.00 off the price.

We shopped at garage sales, turned down the heat, combined errands to use less gas, didn’t buy a lot of prepared food, cooked at home and the like. We had a dishwasher, but it was broken and we didn’t want to spend the money to repair it – so we did without one – for 10 years! We also did without a lot of things.
